We were walking by close to closing time and decided to pop in for a quick one. Mindful of the time, we tried to just pick one beer each - get in and get out quick - but both of the bartenders were so welcoming, knowledgeable, and generous, they wouldn't let us go without tasting a few. The Key Lime Gose and Tyler's Blackberry Pie (Stout) were my personal favorites.
Great location. They have a very impressive beer list. Their outside area was covered in Hops to provide shade from the sun. I wish they had a robust food menu. Overall a great place to hang out with friends and sip a beer
This is my favorite brewery in Cleveland. The beer-tender is super friendly and the beers are great! Parking is relatively easy. Nice atmosphere and the music is at a decent volume so you can talk with your friends without yelling. I cannot recommend this place enough. Nice old building and good views of downtown CLE from the front windows. Wish we had something like this in Phoenix.
I'll start off by saying the food menu is very limited, but that's not the reason you come here. Great craft brewery in the heart of Cleveland. Great views of the city.
Innovative is the word I like to use for this place. Their beer menu is constantly changing and they have won several major awards for their beer. Nice selection of beer, cider, and some other creative concoctions.
They have a small patio that holds about 25 people. Parking can be a bit of a pain during the busy hours.
Awesome brewery! This is the kind of place you can go with friends and enjoy great conversation and high quality brews. These people care about what they do and they make you feel like you’re the only people in the brewery. 100% can’t wait to come back.
Even though no food, this place just SHINES as a hidden city gem!
This micro brewery is a bookworms haven. The smell of books and old wood combined with the multiple free books to read, games and the victorian recall decor make this a calm and beautiful place to enjoy either on a date or by yourself!
The best part being that they have listed the last time the taps and lines were fully cleaned
There was not one thing on that draft list we did not like, and we dont even like IPAs. The irish red was so smooth and drinkable with a gentle biscuit finish, the cassata pils was pleasantly fruity with a soft finish and their bookhouse cider with its zinfandel aroma and bright acidity will keep us coming back!
I really enjoyed walking up to this place. It has welcoming decor with many thoughtful touches. True to their name, there are collectors of books on display. Great indoor vibe, and it has a nice patio. The beer selection was good, and the beers were tasty. It looked to have some small snacks available but no food on site. Cider and wine available if beer isn't your jam. Beer flights as well!
My husband and I come to Bookhouse Brewing every Black Friday now as part of a yearly ritual started a couple years ago while visiting family. Ben the bartender there has been there every year and not only has he been a fantastic bartender, but a highlight of our visits to this brewery. His service to customers (not just us) should be recognized for its balance in social nuance and entertainment. He's also a super cool guy with the best taste in music and video games. :)
The bar itself is phenomenal with great service, great beer selection and a group of locals that will make you feel welcome here whether you're from out of town or a local of Cleveland. If you're a local and you've never been, you need to check this place out, and if you're from out of town - stop on in, you'll not find a more welcoming place to grab a brew.
